Fat & Sassy Bakes was born in a home kitchen, fuelled by a love of proper baking, big flavours, and the firm belief that life is too short for disappointing cake.
I’m Liv — founder, baker, mum of three, and chief decision-maker when it comes to how much chocolate is enough (spoiler: there’s always room for more). I’m completely self-taught, having learned through years of baking, tweaking, tasting, and occasionally starting again when something didn’t quite hit the mark. What began as a passion quickly grew into a business rooted in comfort, nostalgia, and bakes that feel unmistakably homemade.
After a short pause from the ovens — because real life has a habit of doing that — Fat & Sassy returned bigger, bolder, and better. This time with intention, structure, and the encouragement of my partner.
While I’m in the kitchen creating brownies, tray bakes, and all things indulgent, my partner, Sammy, is behind the scenes keeping everything running smoothly. He’s the calm to my chaos — managing the tech, systems, and logistics that allow the business to grow without losing its soul. Together, we strike a balance between creativity and consistency, passion and planning.

We actively choose to source from local suppliers and fellow small businesses when we can, even when it takes a little more effort. It matters to us that our bakes don’t just taste good, but do good too — keeping money local and celebrating the people behind the ingredients.
Everything we make is done with care, humour, and heart. The edges aren’t always perfect, and that’s intentional. These are bakes made to be shared, enjoyed, and remembered.
